According to InfoComm, making AV equipment that is
more energy efficient is a goal for manufacturers, but
some product categories have made bigger inroads
than others. Display manufacturers are introducing
new models that are up to 40 percent more energy
efficient than previous models.
New software simplifies control
and monitoring of environmental
systems for tech managers.
Released at InfoComm 2010, the Crestron
RoomView Green Light enterprise software
was designed to help corporations, schools,
and building managers intelligently reduce
energy consumption and meet global carbon
reduction targets.
Crestron execs say that the new solution
enables management and monitoring of an
organization’s environmental systems in
every room of every building, locally or
worldwide, from an intuitive interface.
RoomView Green Light provides builders
and managers with an integrated energy
management system that unifies integrated
building technology and maximizes sustainability.
It combines building control, real-time
usage monitoring, and scheduling of every
environmental system or component on a
single platform. Charts, gauges, meters, and
graphs displays multiple real-time views of
baseline and current energy consumption.
From any touch panel or Web browser, managers
can monitor and analyze utility meters,
occupancy status, CO2 levels and more by
room, energy source, appliance/device, time
period, and others modes, while calculating/
displaying on-site renewables.
“RoomView Green Light provides
all the tools needed for sustainability.
It optimizes performance
in energy savings, CO2 emissions
reduction, utility cost reduction,
water efficiency, and improved
environmental quality throughout any building
or global enterprise,” explains Vin Bruno,
Crestron’s Director of Marketing. “If you can’t
measure usage in real-time, it’s extremely difficult
to save energy or reduce your carbon footprint.
Green Light makes it easy to accomplish
both of those and so much more.”
